Jeff Hogue was born in Borger, Texas in 1959. He received his B.F.A. in Intermedia from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1995 and after living in several cities in the region, currently resides in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. With an interest in art in all forms and media, Hogue has written and directed videos, organized large collaborations, created prints offered through dealers throughout the U.S., and worked in Television and Film. He spends much of his time painting, dreaming, talking on the phone and facebooking with fellow creatives while caring for his lovely parents. His influences are widespread. He sees an intimate relationship between art making, community building, social activism and spiritual practice and has studied Sufism for 20 years enjoying the spiritual direction of Sheikha Rahima Sweeney, PhD. of Kansas City, Missouri.
